10 Items You Can Legally Carry in Utah for Self-Defense
Let's be honest, there's nothing like being armed.
I never have been, but based on watching television, I assume it's a pretty big rush.
Personally, I feel like a man isn't really a man unless he's packin'.
But not everybody wants to be carrying around a piece all day. It gets hot, it can be cumbersome, you rarely get an opportunity to use it etc...
According to utahcriminallaw.net, there's other things besides guns you can legally carry for self-defense in Utah: (LINK TO FULL ARTICLE)
"Any number of weapons might be useful for self-defense purposes. While many people carry more typical or traditional self-defense tools, other weapons might be more unusual, and people are often unsure if they can legally carry them. Many of the following tools and weapons can be carried for self-defense purposes in Utah:
- Taser
- Pepper spray/mace
- Defense keychains
- Police batons or billy clubs
- Knives
- Firearms
- Swords or sword canes
- Machetes
- Nunchucks
- Brass knuckles"
Alright so there's the list of 10 items.
My cousin once sprayed me with mace when we were kids. It was horrible. I'd never experienced anything so painful. We haven't spoken in thirty years. But I can speak first hand about the effectiveness of mace.
Tasers look pretty brutal.
Is there anybody carrying around nunchucks? I feel like those are pretty cumbersome. And you could say the same about a machete or a sword.
Carrying a knife means you mean business. And the good thing about a knife is it's small and easy to cover up. Maybe that's the way to go for people who don't want to carry around a firearm.
