Shower Thought - November 10, 2025

You can go through every division leader in the NFL and point to key roster additions in the off season that has them in first place. Patriots, Stefon Diggs. Steelers Jalen Ramsey, Rodgers. Colts, Daniel Jones, Denver JK Dobbins leading rusher, Sam Darnold in Seattle. Those are front office wins. And the front offices in San Francisco, Detroit, Buffalo, Baltimore, have got to be kicking themselves for being a step behind. These teams are all teams that feel they should be on top of their divisions but they're not.

And I think that's how BYU might feel. BYU still has a good shot at the Big 12 shampionship game and the playoff, and they're better than Utah, but if they miss the big 12 title game it's because they weren't as active as the presumed favorite Texas Tech. Techs transfers ate them up, Reggie Virgil and Terrance Carter combined for 7 catches and about 100 yards, Cole WizNeski had 10 tackles, David Bailey and Romello Height had 8 tackles and 2 TFLs, Lee Hunter held up Bear in the middle on the run game and had a sack. Texas Tech was the UTEP of the Big 12 for years, haven't had a season over 8 wins since Mike Leach, but they out front office-ed the rest of the league this past offseason and now have the best team in the conference. If BYU barely misses out again this year, I hope Kalani gets a larger allotment of NIL cash for next season. If he doesn't I blame the front office.
