There’s a new place to get breakfast in Southern Utah, and it may not be the first place you look. I happened on this restaurant by chance on Saturday. It is called the Coffee Kettle Cafe, and it is closer to Toquerville than St. George.

Discovering a Hidden Breakfast Gem

This is a restaurant inside the new Sapp Bros gas station and truck stop that was built recently at exit 27 on I-15. I stopped to use the restrooms, which by the way are fabulous, and decided to get some breakfast.

This was some of the best corned beef hash I have eaten. The taste was good, but it was the texture that made it special. It was less fried and a little more tender than other corned beef I’ve had. It really brought the flavor out.

Savory Breakfast Options in a Clean Atmosphere

Don’t get me wrong, I like the way corned beef hash is usually served. This was just a little extra good. Everything they served tasted like I would expect with just a little extra yum. My wife got an omelet, and it was excellent.

The atmosphere isn’t anything amazing, however, the service is good and the place is clean and efficient. It would be a good place to go on a Holiday weekend when every restaurant in the area is jammed.

I plan on stopping for breakfast to fuel up when we head up north. The convenience store has everything you need, even a giant chair and a bigfoot. There is a Burrito Bros and Beans and Brews inside for more food options as well.
