UTAH MAMMOTH

Mark your calendars! The Mammoth preseason schedule is out, and the excitement is palpable for a promising season ahead.

With new branding come new eyes to the newest team in the NHL, and the initial impressions from the name drop seem to be overwhelming according to the Smith Entertainment Group.

Citing the economy, the college scene and the airport among other things, Smith states that Utah has “nothing in common with small markets.”

So today I make it known that although Mammoth was the winner, and rightfully so, Utah’s Hockey team had a chance to be named any of these potential options at one point in time.

The event has made it all but official that “Mammoth” is likely the direction in which the team heads and I'm here to remind you why it just works for Utah.

Today, EA Sports, developer and publisher of widely known and somewhat accepted sports games, released details on “NHL 25”, their newest iteration of their hockey franchise. The game, set to release on October 4th, dropped it’s reveal trailer and within it can be found glimpses of the Utah Hockey Club.

Well before the Arizona Coyotes were ever set to relocate to Salt Lake City, fans have been mocking up names, sweaters and full-blown aesthetics for a potential professional hockey team in Utah.
