I feel like on I-15 from Provo to Ogden is one big road construction nightmare.

Anytime I'm driving north, there's always tons of construction going on and it seems like it's in perpetuity.

There's dust everywhere, weird detours that take you out by the Long John Silvers, and there's jackhammers going full blast constantly...it's harrowing.

And I got curious if Safelite and other windshield repair places are getting rich up in Utah County and Salt Lake County because there's so many little rocks and gravel being kicked up in the midst of all the construction.

There was a post today on Reddit about the topic titled:

"Anyone Else Get Rock Chips in their Windshield Today on I-15 South?"

And there were a ton of comments in the affirmative.

"Yep, it's been that way for decades and will continue without some kind of concerted legal action by the legislature and highway patrol. (Ha, as if! Maybe if we convince the legislature that "the gays" are the ones hauling gravel.)

I've never had a windshield go chip-free in Utah for more than a year."

I'm not sure I've had a windshield be chip-free for a year either. But maybe that's true regardless of where you live? Or maybe Utah really does have more per capita rock chips. Who the heck knows.

"Same thing usually happens to me around point of the mountain by Lehi. If I see a Geneva truck I move a few lanes over and try to get in front of them as quickly as possible.

Your insurance likely has glass coverage with small or a zero deductible. I've had my windshield replaced twice in the 2 years I've lived here."

Yikes.

Be careful out there everybody!
