Alert: Major Egg Recall Hitting Utah and Nevada
The U.S. Department of Agriculture got a call that Cargill Kitchen Solutions' liquid eggs may have something called sodium hypochlorite in them which is a chemical in cleaning solutions.
Per prevention.com (LINK TO FULL ARTICLE):
"FSIS initiated an investigation into the claim, which led the organization to issue the recall of approximately 212,268 pounds of product on March 28. Due to the low risk of adverse health consequences, the FSIS gave this recall a Class III classification. That is the third highest type of classification FSIS uses. If you believe you have affected product, do not eat it."
My understanding is that the manufacturer is Cargill, but various brands of liquid eggs are effected. So check to see if the brand you buy is part of the recall.
