Call Guinness Books!! It Got HOW COLD in Utah Last Night??
There are those who say "the cold doesn't bother me I'm a tough guy and you're a wuss and I'm a man and I know how to change my own oil and you're a little putz with glasses and I'm guy with hair on his arms and my wife is hotter than yours and you're a little baby with your thermal pajamas."
And then there are those who basically say "do you feel a draft?"
Which one are you?
Well, on Monday night in Utah the state hit a low temperature of minus-55 degrees!
According to ABC4 (link to full article):
"With arctic air funneling into Utah, the last few days have been undoubtedly cold. But one Utah location was colder than most.
Peter Sinks, a natural sinkhole located just 20 miles northeast of Logan, recorded a temperature of minus 55 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday night, solidifying its claim as one of the coldest locations in the lower 48 United States."
That's incredible.
I didn't think you get a temperature that low this side of Fargo.
What's with the cold? Southern Utah is freezing too.
But I guess why Peter Sinks was so incredibly cold was because sinkholes naturally are just freezing.
"The negative-55 degrees at Peter Sinks this week is still far from the coldest temperature ever recorded at the sinkhole. In February 1985, the temperature plummeted to minus 69.3 degrees Fahrenheit, making it officially the second-coldest temperature ever recorded in the lower 48 states. The lowest was 69.7 degrees Fahrenheit at Roger’s Pass, Montana in 1954." (link to full article)
