Percentage of Utah in Favor of Recreational Weed Use
Back in the 20's William Randolph Hearst basically said: "weed is for people who want to binge three seasons of Battlestar Galactica in two nights."
And Hearst was against weed (according to stoners) because he was afraid his paper industry which would be supplanted by hemp because hemp was cheaper to print newspapers on and then after you read that the Yankees lost, you could roll up a fat one to burn down with your neighbor when they got home from their shift at Long John Silver's.
But Hearst owned timber mills I guess and didn't want hemp to become the go-to for printing.

So that was the beginning of the war on weed. The war intensified in the 60's when the hippies took it too far and would show up to job interviews barefoot.
And Utah has always been anti-weed because it makes people lethargic and play too much N64.

But according to KSL.com, that might be changing.

"A majority of Utahns favor legalizing marijuana for recreational use by adults in the state, according to a new poll.
The survey conducted in May for the Deseret News and Hinckley Institute of Politics found 53% — 30% strongly and 23% somewhat — support legalization, while 43% oppose it.
In addition, the poll shows 77% support Utah's current medicinal marijuana law, which has been in place since 2018."
