
Dixie beats Desert Hills to Advance to the Semifinals
The Dixie Flyers got the 72-63 win over Desert Hills to advance to the semifinals for the second year in a row.
Grant Carter was tremendous in the first half for Dixie getting to the rim. Carter finished with 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field.
Kyle Lemke was guarded tightly by Boston Holbrook for most of the game. Lemke scored 17 points on 70% shooting from the field including a one handed slam that brought the house down.
Lemke was even more impressive with his ability to find his teammates when the double teams came. He had five assists.
Jordan Roberts had a great shooting game. He knocked down 3 of 4 threes, and had 15 points along with five assists and six rebounds.
Desert Hills played a really solid game. They only turned the ball over five times the whole game, battled in the paint despite a size disadvantage and they made ten threes.
Boston Holbrook started the game off red hot scoring eight points in the first period.
He finished with 13 points and five assists for the Thunder.
Lincoln Holmes lead all scorers with 24 points. He was 8-17 from the field and knocked down 3 three pointers.
The Flyers move on to play the winner of Ridgeline and Layton Christian in the semifinal tomorrow night.
The Flyers are looking to get their first state championship since 2020 when they beat Sky View in the final. They Flyers went to the championship game last year but lost to Snow Canyon by nine points.
