The idea of High schools came about in the 1980's so that Hollywood had something to put Molly Ringwald in. 

The whole idea was that one group had letterman jackets and then there was the greasers and the preppies and then there was Molly who came from the "wrong side of the tracks" and what would happen when her boyfriend found out??

And the writers, who came from Harvard and Brown, didn't seem to realize that high school boys would go after a girl regardless of her credit score if she was cute. Hadn't they seen Cinderella?

The idea that a pretty girl would be scoffed at because her father didn't own stock options in IBM was a little out of touch.

But that was a long time ago.

Now high schools are all about advanced placement and getting into a college that will teach you how to train AI to eventually kill all of us.

US News: The BEST Public High School in Utah

According to the US News & World Report, the top high school in Utah is something called Beehive Science and Technology Academy. It's a charter school which isn't what we care about.

We're looking at schools that have football teams.

So the #2 school in the state is public and does have a football team. It's Skyline High School in Salt Lake.

Per US News:

"Skyline High School is ranked second within Utah. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. The AP® participation rate at Skyline High School is 69%. The total minority enrollment is 20%, and 8% of students are economically disadvantaged. Skyline High School is 1 of 11 high schools in the Granite District."

Wow!

Who knew. Good for Skyline.
