Shower Thought - January 6, 2026

We all know that there's a special place in hell for Lane Kiffin, who abandoned his team right before their playoff run. All of his players who believed in him and came to Oxford because of him and then when they need him most he slips out like a thief in the night. Luckily, Kiffin has been brutalized over this by everybody in the world, for the last month, he's gotten blasted and it would be awesome if ole miss goes and wins it without him.

There's another kind of coaching betrayal that deserves the same amount of criticism but it won't get it. Last night in the FCS championship game Cinderella team Illinois State had the ball with a minute or so left driving deep into Montana State territory. They had already made a great comeback in the game. Tie game, they're at the 25 yard line, they have all the mojo, and the coach Brock Spack, leaves his team at that moment. He said good job, guys you got us this far, but I'm quitting on you. I'm going into the fetal position because I am terrified and nervous, so instead of keeping the mojo going, and running our offense, we're going to run the ball three straight times, and turn the whole game over to our FCS kicker who we just flew in from Bangladesh, we don't even know his name, our long snapper has a palsy, but I'm scared. They attempt the FG snap fumbled it's blocked, Montana State goes on to win in OT. Now the story of the game is that the kicker lost the game for them! That's wrong! The coach left the team, betrayed them all. The quarterback was ticked off he knew his coach sold them all out. Put Brock Spack on some front page articles right next to Kiffin.
