FINALLY…Utah Teachers are Getting a Raise
There's nothing worse than being a teacher, except youth soccer.
Teachers have to deal with middle school boys which is the worst demographic on the planet...it's up there with ISIS, bad parkers, Little Moe with the gimpy leg.
Who would want to put with that? Somebody has to and these teachers do everyday. Now I understand the teachers here in Utah are great and maybe the middle schoolers on average are better than other places, but they've still gotta be pretty horrible. Do you remember how obnoxious you were in the 6th grade? You should have been sent to sleep away academy, but your parents were soft and spoiled you and believed you were a good kid even though you were horrible.
This is why anytime there's a news story about teachers getting a little bigger piece of the pie everybody says: "that's worth it."
According to FOX13.com: (LINK TO FULL ARTICLE)
"Utah teachers will get a $1,446 direct pay raise and school support staff will get $1,000 bonuses from the Utah State Legislature and Governor Spencer Cox under a funding initiative announced Friday.
The $50 million salary boost was announced at a news conference on Utah's Capitol Hill, ahead of Friday night's unveiling of the multi-billion dollar state budget. Lawmakers packed the Gold Room to hear the announcement."
Now that's not a huge raise at all. And I bet if we talked to some teachers they'd scoff at how little that raise is. And they'd say this is insulting. So I don't want to speak for them and will bring my remarks to a close.
