"Ideal Home and Auto Paint game of the night
Snow Canyon at Crimson Cliffs...both teams tied for first in Region 9!
Austin Smith has been stinging it for Crimson, Jayson Macarthur, Jackson Wittwer, Ryder Sherratt, McKay Wright!
Snow Canyon has scored 21 runs in their last couple of games. Ledger Shipp, Diesel Lee, Dewy Gibb Cael Johnson, Andrew Lyon not a lot of outs in either of these lineups should be a fun one tonight!"
BYU Blasts Utah Tech
What an offensive outburst by BYU yesterday at Bruce Hurst Field beating Utah Tech 19-1.
Utah Tech beat them up at their place earlier this year, but the Cougars came back with a vengeance.
A bunch of Region 9 alumni played well yesterday including Cooper Vest, Bryker Hurdsman and Luke Anderson.
Petey Soto Jr. also had a hit for the Trailblazers.
Region Rush! Top plays in Region 9 Baseball

Brock Harris Signing Day
AWP Spotlight Player Austin Smith
Austin Smith is out Appliance Wholesalers Plus spotlight player of the day. He was awesome in the Hurricane series and hit the ball on the screws basically every at bat. He had a double and a triple and couple RBI. He's second on the team in RBI this season. Crimson is 10-4 overall and 2-0 in conference. Jake Andreas AWP Spotlight Player
How about Jake Andreas!
What a performance against one of the most deadly lineups in the state.
Can't wait for the rematch tonight on ESPN 97.7
RBI Leaders in Region 9 Baseball
We've got some sluggers this year in Region 9.
I think Haigen Reed had close to 50 RBI by the end of the season last year which was amazing and I think we'll have a couple approach that this year.
Stay tuned to ESPN 97.7 for all the best in Region Nine Sports!

Desert Hills softball wins despite being no-hit by Crimson

"Insane game last night Gracee Stucki and Crimson no-hit the top hitting team in Region but lost the game...more on that to come.
D-Hills is 14-1 and 5-0 in Region. LuLu West is hitting .605 with 10 doubles and 7 home runs. Peyten Bensen has 8 home runs to lead the region.
Here's Desert Hills Coach Heidi Taylor talking about her teams gutting out a win despite not getting the bats going:
"We try to emulate tough situations during practices and put pressure on the girls. We’ve also had some close preseason games which have helped us in that way. We talk a lot about “Pressure being a Privilege” and the girls just played so loose it was really great to see!"
These two teams play again on Friday."

"Do you know these ice bath people? They wake up at 5am jump into a bathtub filled with ice cubes. And they get big rush out of it! They go on to have a great day selling Amway to their friends and family! It's really hard mentally to jump in that cold water I guess. And they figure, we've got it cushy these days. We've got minky couture blankets, cars that drive for us, lulu lemon pants. We're not working on the farm anymore or in the mines like your granddads. So these overachievers want to introduce forced adversity in their life. It makes em feel good. I think Ryan Smith understands this idea.
We've got 70,000 kids in junior jazz, they're all wearing their steph curry jerseys, flinging up threes, sweat bands, they're doing the three goggles after every shot, they're idolizing LeBron and Luka and the other guy. Ryan Smith is saying you know what, I'm putting ice rinks in every city in Utah. We need our kids to be more like hockey players. Cold, getting punched in the face, high sticked, cross checked, bloodied, toothless. Life is too easy now with the Pokemon, tik tok, bluey, crustless peanut butter and jelly, shootin threes we got enough of those. We need to get some hockey players in this state. Way to go Ryan!"

"The NBA is all bail out guys. Coaches work their entire careers from college to film room to assistant to head coach in the nba to not have to coach in the last 2 minutes of close games. They're bailed out by Kevin Durant or Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum or Luka. Isolation guys. Top of the key, maybe you get a pick and roll and a switch. But it's an iso and he's either going to step back and hit a three or get fouled. The coach doesn't have to draw that up. He doesn't have to do anything. Phil Jackson had his precious triangle offense but what was the play he called in game 6 in the Delta Center? When Mjeff pushed off on Russell? Nothing Phil was sitting in the lotus position on the bench smoking a cigar. That's the NBA way...
Kevin Young is an NBA guy if you haven't heard! Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, James Harden! He was brought up on bail out iso players who could get their shot at the end of games. But he doesn't have one of those guys on BYU. Dallin Hall is too small. Richie Saunders can't create the separation of the dribble. Egor isn't strong enough to get to the free throw line. So KYU has to work his butt off at the end of games and out of timeouts. He's getting Richie the ball like it's a kickoff return, he's got a wedge block. He's gonna get to the free throw line. Young is coaching his tail off. And he's dancing in the locker room. I don't think it's possible to have this much fun if you're coaching the Brooklyn Nets."
