Is the LOTTO Coming to Utah??

State lotteries started back in the days when a man went to work in a suit and came home angry.

The year was 1964 and the first state to have a lottery was New Hampshire. And New Hampshirites were basically like: "Nobody cares what we do here." And so they started this trend that has now spread across the country to our front door.

According to Fox13Now.com, a bill has been presented to the Utah legislator to bring the lottery to Utah.

"I think it’s time for adults to be able to make adult decisions and to be able to do it and put the money into the state of Utah," Rep. Kera Birkeland, R-Morgan, said in an interview with FOX 13 News.

The lottery would be used to lower taxes in other areas, she said.

"When I talk to my constituents and they cannot afford to stay in their homes, our property taxes are just getting out of control," Rep. Birkeland said. "We have revenue that’s being spent by Utahns that could benefit. What moral high ground are we standing on when we say that's not government's role?"

The state of Utah doesn't permit gambling and other stuff like it so degenerates have to travel out of state to get their kicks. They go to Wyoming or Idaho or wherever.

The other thing that is illegal are raffles. This has always been hilarious to me. Let's go ahead and make those "legal" officially, or we stand to be like that Iowa city in The Music Man.
