Lagoon is releasing the animals from their controversial zoo.

The zoo portion has been apart of Lagoon for about 60 years I guess.

According to KSL: (LINK TO FULL ARTICLE)

"Lions, cougars, zebras, kangaroos, camels and even elk have called the park home since 1967. [Spokesperson Adam] Leishman said the big cats have already been rehomed to an accredited facility in the U.S. That happened towards the end of last year. The plan is to phase out the remainder of the exhibits through this year.”

The park said the animals have always been well treated and safe."

Interesting.

Lagoon insists they're not making this move because of protests although it sounds like the pro animal groups are celebrating a big win.

My question is why all the pressure on Lagoon versus a regular zoo? Are the protestors saying that Lagoon was worse than a full zoo for animals? Or are they also protesting the big zoos? I assume they're just protesting everything.

I'm not a big fan of zoos. Most of the time the big animals that you care most to see are asleep the whole time. They look depressed etc...But my understanding is that most zoos are trying to rehabilitate animals or are taking animals who are in a bad situation in nature and trying to give them a safe environment before they can be rehomed? But what the heck do I know.

There's a million things going on everyday that you just have no idea about. And the more you try to stay informed the more you wanna just take a nap.
