UNDER CONSTRUCTION. The Four Faces on Mt. Rushmore of St. George, UT
We got four slots to honor St. George.
Let's start carving!
SARK ARSLANIAN - Dixie College Football Coach
PER Utah Tech Athletics Hall of Fame Website: (Link)
Sarkis “Coach Sark” Arslanian began coaching at Central Jr. High in Salt Lake City, then continued at Union High School in Roosevelt. In 1955, he became athletic director and head coach in football, track and baseball at Dixie College. His recruiting efforts nearly doubled the size of the student body and were a stabilizing factor for the college.
He left behind a nationally ranked team at Dixie College to take over as head football coach at Weber State University in 1965, where his teams were nationally ranked. From 1973-82, he was head coach at Colorado State University. He then became a professional scout for CFL and USFL.
ANGELICA from Angelica's Mexican Grill
What life in St. George has this woman not blessed?
Some on a monthly basis, others on a weekly basis and still others on a daily basis. You know who you are.
WILFORD BRIMLEY - Movie Star
America's greatest actor lived in Santa Clara, UT before he passed away a few years ago. Kids aren't going to appreciate Brimley being on here, but kids are idiots.
GREG CROWSHAW - Dixie College Football Coach
Per Utah Tech Website: (LINK)
In his 24 seasons (1982-2005), Croshaw compiled a record of 214-56-1, won 17 conference titles, and was the national runner-up twice. He coached 36 NJCAA first-team All-Americans, had the nation's top running back nine times and coached four NJCAA players of the year.
He never had a losing season winning 10 games or more 12 times and he had an 11-1 record five times.
Alright, that's the mount! Thanks for your tax dollars...
Agree? Disagree? Who'd we miss?
