Do you have a friend who level jumps on you?

You're talking football, saying things like, “Yeah, Oregon looks good,” and naming their quarterback and top receiver, just trying to have a good time talking football, and your buddy jumps in with, “Oh no, their offensive line is down!” Then he runs through every lineman they lost in the portal or to graduation. And I'm like, I just want to talk about Joey Harrington. What are you trying to prove? They act so pompous about it: “Oh, I'm so much more enlightened. Football is won in the trenches. I am watching the inside zone, the trap, the counter, while you are watching the quarterback or those little wide receivers running around like soccer players.” Makes you feel like an idiot.

Well, this is the year for those guys to triumph if they are Utah fans. Utah has the second ranked offensive line in the country, according to Pro Football Focus.

Your buddy could rattle off all the names: Spencer Fano, Caleb Lomu, Something Mokofisi, Jaren Kump, and  the other guy. And if offensive line play is really as important as he always says, then this is the test. Utah is the big variable on Pro Football Focus’ list. Every other team is Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida, Iowa, Notre Dame. One of these is not like the others. But Utah has pro caliber offensive linemen all over the place. So if they stink, then offensive line blowhard, you better be ready to admit it is just a bunch of interchangeable big uglies in the slop, and what really matters are the pretty boys on the edges.
