Back in the 1930's parents used to look at their baby and go "Conrad!"

Then the wife would say: "I wanted to go with Albert, but you know Horace!" And everybody would laugh because they in fact did know Horace, and he was a complete B-hole.

Nowadays the women choose the names and it's funny because they are reverting back to older sounding names.

"We analyzed the data to reveal Utah’s top baby names — according to Social Security Administration records. The baby names are listed in order of popularity, starting with the most popular.

In Utah, where mountains meet spirituality, names with biblical origins like Rachel and Joshua remain popular. The state also embraces names inspired by its landscapes, like Sierra and Canyon."

However, the most popular names in Utah for 2023...

Oliver and Olivia.

This isn't that surprising. Olivia has been in the top five for a decade it seems like. Oliver is a little more surprising because it's the name of that kid from that musical who's always starving.

Here are some more of the top names from Listophile (link to full list and article):

Utah gets a bad rap for naming their kids because all of these names seem pretty normal. Sure we all know some "Kestybules" or some "Lynnoliums" but for the most part, I think even the crazies are opting for names like Hudson these days and we're all better off because of it.
