Things I think about the season:
-The Dixie Flyers beat Cyprus 97-22 in a varsity basketball game (!)
-Cedar's JT Jeter is going to be an instant impact player for the Reds just like he was in football.
-Pine View's backcourt tandem of Nash Schroeder and Griffen Shepherd are going to cause serious problems especially in their new run and gun system.
-Crimson Cliffs' Scoop Johnson may take the biggest leap of anyone this year in Region. He was awesome last year, but now it's his team.
-Desert Hills' Eli Allred is one of my favorite players to watch. He talks about his inspiration for working so hard on his midrange game in our Media Day segment with the Thunder. So awesome.
-Hurricane's Quinn Gubler is lightning in a bottle. If they can up their defense a little bit before region play starts this is going to be a much improved season for the Tigers.
-Snow Canyon's Owen Mackay deserves all of the superlatives he gets. Amazing leader. Unselfish. Coachable. And obviously incredibly talented. Can't wait to see him in his senior year.
