The race is on Saturday May 6th.
Here is what you need to know about volunteering.
VOLUNTEERS
Per the website:
"It takes thousands of volunteers to bring IRONMAN athletes across the finish line every year. From VIP lounge assistants and packet stuffers to bike techs and finish line catchers, there are volunteer opportunities to fit any schedule, skill set, and activity level. Join the gold standard tradition of supporting IRONMAN athletes here in Greater Zion and visit the registration page (link to IM volunteer site) to find your next volunteer opportunity."
We had Chad McWilliams on The Andy Thompson Show this week, and he said one of the reasons the IRONMAN keeps wanting to come back to St. George is because of how awesome the community volunteers are. When they had to relocate the big IRONMAN race from Kona, HI, they didn't hesitate to choose St. George as the replacement city.
The registration process for volunteers is very easy. You just go to this link and enter your name and email. If you're already in their system they will send you a list of the shifts that are available. If you're not yet in the system you'll fill out a quick application.
There are tons of different stations to volunteer throughout the course including:
Aid stations, finish line, packet stuffing, crosswalks, kit building, bike handlers, bussing, parade of nations and many more!
