Southern Utah Restaurants That Should Cater Your Super Bowl Party!
The Super Bowl is right around the corner (February 11th)! Everyone knows the best part of the Super Bowl is the food, especially this year with these two boring teams. But will you be making your own food, or will you be ordering out?
Here is a list of the TOP RESTAURANTS that should be catering your Super Bowl Party!
Port Of Subs:
I love sandwiches, and Port Of Subs has some of the best in town. Plus, they do those sandwich platters too! Order quickly though if that's what your plan is.
Costa Vida:
I was recently at a funeral that was catered by Costa Vida and it was delicious. Burritos and salads, and tons of dressing! It was so good. You'd be a hit at your party if you had a burrito station from Costa Vida.
Wing Nutz:
Wing Nutz is probably my favorite place for chicken wings in town. However, I don't actually like bone-in, but they have both bone-in and boneless to make everybody happy. They have some amazing sauces too, from not spicy to VERY spicy!
Dickey's BBQ Pit:
Who doesn't love BBQ? We've had Dickey's cater our Christmas Eve dinner once and it was awesome. I love their pulled pork, brisket, rolls, Mac and cheese, hash brown casserole, and they've got their own bbq sauces that rock as well.
Island Grinds:
My favorite Hawaiian place in town is Island Grinds. However, they're not open on Sundays so you'll have to coordinate the pickup for Saturday. I really love their teriyaki beef, but their Mac salad is to die for!
Wingers:
I just had Wingers last night, and it still slaps! Those Sticky Fingers are absolutely unreal! I love them so much! Imagine about 100 Sticky Fingers at your party, then leftovers for days afterward. YES PLEASE!
Tacos Plaza:
I'm not sure if Tacos Plaza will be open on Super Bowl Sunday or not, but a taco bar would be fantastic! Tacos Plaza is really great too. They've got a big salsa bar with tons of different selections.

Remember being a kid riding your bike? Maybe you'd show off for your friends and do some tricks! Maybe you pulled the old "LOOK MA! NO HANDS!"
JAIL! INSTANT JAIL!
Did you know in the State of Utah, it is actually ILLEGAL to operate a bike or motorcycle with NO HANDS? That's right! If you don't have at least ONE HAND on your bike while riding, you could catch a fine, or even jail time!
According to Utah Code, "A person operating a bicycle or moped shall keep at least one hand on the handlebars at all times." Additionally, "A person operating a bicycle or moped may not carry any package, bundle, or article which prevents the use of both hands in the control and operation of the bicycle or moped."
So next time, you're with your buddies SHOWING OFF and HOT-RODDING... THINK TWICE! You could end up in JAIL!
Southern Utah Restaurants We REALLY Miss!
Orange Julius:
Orange Julius was in the Food Court at the mall. The Food Court that LITERALLY doesn't exist anymore, directly outside of Bohme and Dillards. I miss you, Orange Julius.
Sizzler:
Yes, I know Cedar City still has Sizzler, but St. George used to have one too! Right on St. George Boulevard. The current location is home to Alta Bank and looks NOTHING like a Sizzler!
JB's:
St. George had a JB's, and even Hurricane had a JB's. It was like, a little Dennys, kind of... But they had a buffet! The breakfast buffet was MY FAVORITE!! The JB's location is currently home to Zupas!
2 Fat Guys Pizza:
2 Fat Guys Pizza had a HORRIBLE location, but AMAZING pizza! It was in the little shopping center to the south of Walmart in Bloomington. Hungry Howies and Peppers Cantina are in the same spot that 2 Fat Guys used to be in. It was wood fired pizza, and delicious. After 2 Fat Guys left, MULTIPLE pizza places came into the same location and just couldn't make it work.
Charlie's:
Charlie's was a cute little restaurant that had ice cream, and soup, and sandwiches and always had a jukebox playing music. I miss Charlie's ALL THE TIME! Especially when I get sick. I miss that Chicken Noodle Soup. Charlie's location is now home to Swig on St. George Boulevard.

It's Official: Utah has a NEW State Flag!
Utah is getting a NEW state flag after the state Legislature approved SB31! This bill gives Utah it's new flag, while making the current flag the "historical state flag of Utah".
The bill passed the house with a 40-35 vote!

The bill will go into effect in just over a year from now, on March 9, 2024, if signed by the governor.
