The First Annual Southern Virginia University Football Golf Tournament is coming to Sky Mountain Golf Course on May 20th.

Coach Rick Berry, former state championship winning head football coach at Desert Hills high school and new defensive coordinator at Southern Virginia, is looking to showcase the university to local kids and parents in Southern Utah.

"We're going to have an SVU golf fundraiser for the football program that's going to help with recruiting," Berry said. "And I'm encouraging all of the high schools to participate in it as well as parents."

After the golf tournament fundraiser there will be an open house from 1-2pm right after the golf tournament.

"The open house is for every parent out there who has a son or daughter that plays in a sport or liberal arts, to come out and learn about Southern Virginia University," Berry said. "Our athletic director will be there, multiple head coaches from other sports will be there, and we're going to talk about why Southern Virginia is such a unique opportunity for a lot of our Region kids from St. George to not only play sports but to continue their education."

THE WORLD'S BIGGEST HOLE IN THE GROUND IS IN UTAH

The Kennecott Copper Mine in Herriman Utah is the world's largest man-made hole in the ground. It's like the Grand Canyon but without all that "nature" crap.
