This was a BIG DEAL.

Utah Tech got their first D-1 postseason victory in Vegas last night.

They won an overtime thriller over Stephen F. Austin 80-76 in the first round of the WAC Basketball tournament.

I was amazed at how composed they were in crunch time.

Utah Tech was the 11-seed, and that usually means you play close, but then when it gets down to "winning time" you turn the ball over, or you miss a key free throw, or whatever. Not the case for the Trailblazers.

Dancell Leter had this awesome play in OT, and also a key three from the corner that helped seal the game for UTU.

Leter had 12 points off the bench for the Trailblazers but wasn't the only one throwing down last night.

Here's Cam Gooden setting the tone early in the first half:

Gooden lead Utah Tech with 22 points which was a game high.

Senior Frank Staine also had an awesome performance. He scored 18 points on 6-of-11 from the field.

Coach Judkins had to have been pleased with the overall performance of UTU, they shot almost 50% as a team, and out rebounded SFA 37-31.

The win wasn't just historic for the program, but for Coach Judkins as well. He got his 300th career NCAA victory.

Here's Judkins after the game with almost no voice left...

The Trailblazers will face off against SUU on Thursday at 9pm MT / 8pm PT at the Orleans arena. Utah Tech went 1-1 against the Thunderbirds in the regular season. Should be an awesome March atmosphere in Vegas with two rival teams going at it on Thursday.
