What it Means if Another Driver Flashes Their Headlights at You in Utah
There's nothing worse than getting a speeding ticket, besides youth soccer.
And the cop usually pops out of nowhere right in the middle of a text group chat you're on about the best ever John Candy movie. And you throw you're phone down on the floor and it gets tangled up with your feet and you're swerving all over the place and now they're gonna get you for reckless driving on top of speeding and your crappy insurance is gonna have you over a barrel and your wife is going to leave you for her old high school boyfriend who has a nice management position at a place that sells software solutions.
BUT! Sometimes instead of driving right through a speed trap, some good samaritan flashes their high beams at you which means: "hey chubbo, slow it down there's some fuzz up around the bend."
Apparently, other states have different meanings behind their lights flashing, but in Utah it's usually about cops or to tell you your lights aren't on or that your wife is in the backseat with another man etc...
I like being the hero who is flashing the lights at oncoming traffic to alert them to cops but I always look into my rearview mirror to see if they are applying their brakes and they never are. Do they not believe me? Do they not respect the car I'm driving? Are they texting while driving?
These are all questions we'll get answers to when we're dead. Until then watch out for cops on Highway 7.
