Here's my Skeeter Beaters this week.

I'm 7-11 on the season and am embarrassing the show and the station. Trying to regroup here...

Arkansas at BYU (EVEN) - Take the Razorbacks. BYU hasn't been able to stop the run against anybody. Who knows how healthy Jaren Hall is. Arkansas is motivated to save their bowl hopes after being hyped in the preseason as a top 20 team and a threat to Alabama in the SEC West. I love their coach even though he's very dumb.

USC (+3.5) at Utah - I'm doing a George Costanza here and going against my instinct. Take USC. We saw how bad Utah struggled against a physical USC team with a talented QB. Thompson-Robinson made mincemeat of the Utes' defense. Caleb Williams is going to be the second best quarterback they play this year behind DTR. The Utes' pass rush isn't great and similar to BYU, they haven't been able to stop the run. It would have been nice for the Utes to have one of their great defensive teams coincide with the Cam Rising years. Unfortunately last year's defense was average, by Whittingham standards, and this year's is the same or worse.

Utah Tech (+9.5) at Northern Iowa - Take the Trailblazers. They played a really gritty game against Abilene Christian two weeks ago. Defense seems to be getting better, especially in the red zone. I make up the line in these games and most of the time UTU covers.

We'll see you on Monday from 4-6PM! Enjoy playoff baseball on ESPN 977!
