Can you think of anything better than a chocolate factory?

The smells, the different varieties, the smooth pouring of chocolate, the orange midgets, the one kid who turns into a huge blue balloon.

I grew up with the knowledge that Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolates was the best chocolate in the world and I think now that I've grown I can agree that it is what it says it is "the World's Finest!"

I know people get excited about chocolate and everybody has their favorites, but Mrs. Cavanaugh's sells to people all over the world.

You can also set up a tour of the factory! Which is a cool little field trip idea.

Here's a little more detail about them:

"Our Story began with George and Marie Cavanaugh's desire to help raise funds for their church in South Dakota. Experimenting with her amazing pecan roll recipe, Marie created a variety of delicious candy confections to sell. The fund-raiser proved successful, and afterwards people still wanted to buy her chocolates."

The rest of the story goes that they went into a bank to get a loan and they gave the banker some chocolate and he wolfed it down and basically said you can have all the money you want. He then ordered a couple hundred pounds of chocolate for his clients!

It's a great origin story for a great Utah original company. They've been doing it since 1964 and they also do ice cream which somehow I've never had.

I would love to be a chocolate maker one day. I'm not sure how long the training is or what else I have to do but I want to do what this guy is doing for the rest of my life.

Have you had Mrs. Cavanaugh's?
