There's nothing like going into an auto parts store on a Saturday and kicking around with your Uncle and just hoping at the cash register they'll have a Snickers for sale from this decade.

I'm not a big car guy. I can change a tire and put in a quart of oil but when it comes to figuring out how to put a seat belt on when it's grabbing? I hate that. How do you avoid that? How come it doesn't realize I'm not in a crash I'm just trying to fasten the darn thing? Why hasn't Elon figured out how to fix that common problem.

Anyway, for real car people there is some bad news if you're a fan of one particular car parts store...Advance Auto Parts.

Per USA Today: (LINK TO FULL ARTICLE)

"In releasing its fourth-quarter report Wednesday, the company reiterated its plans to close approximately 500 corporate stores, 200 independent locations and four distribution centers by mid-2025 as part of a "restructuring plan" initially laid out in 2024.

'"During 2024, we initiated transformative actions to reposition Advance for long-term success and value creation,"' said Shane O'Kelly, president and chief executive officer, in a news release Wednesday."

Sad news.

There are several stores in Utah that are in danger of closing, or that have already closed.

Let me know in the comments if you local Advance is closing up shop.

It's a sad day for car people who become accustomed to buying from one shop. I guess we just blame Amazon.
