Two of the best teams in the state will square off this week in Region 10 Baseball.

The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs, the defending state champions, and the Dixie Flyers, last year's region champions, will start their two game set on Tuesday night at Flyer Field at 7:30 p.m. You can listen to the game on 101.9 and 106.1 in St. George and 99.1 in Cedar City. Crimson Cliffs comes into the series ranked #3 in the state according to the 4A RPI rankings and are coming off an impressive offensive series against Pine View. The Mustangs scored 33 runs in two games while holding the Panthers to just eight runs.

They were lead by McKay Wright on Friday who hit 2 home runs and drove in 4 RBI. Beau Sampson got the win on the mound for Crimson Cliffs, pitching three innings, giving up four hits and one run, and striking out five batters.

The projected starter for Tuesday is flame thrower Jaiven Ross who is unbeaten on the year. His most impressive Region performance may have come a couple weeks ago against Snow Canyon when he pitched a no-hitter for five innings and struck out 10 Warriors.

The Dixie Flyers are the last team to be unbeaten in Region 10. They shutout Hurricane in both games last week and have only given up four total runs in six region games!

Dixie's Blake Watson leads the team in hitting with a .482 average which includes 10 doubles. Watson has gotten a hit in eight straight games for the Flyers.

The deadly Cayson Bell is scheduled to start tomorrow on the mound for Dixie. He is 5-0 on the year with a 0.50 ERA! He has 44 strikeouts and has only walked 9.
