In the team’s first year of existence, the Utah Hockey Club is locked in a heated battle for the very last spot in the Western conference playoff race.

The 2nd wild car, currently possessed by Vancouver with 75 points, has a 4 point gap or less between they and three other teams.

St. Louis has 75 points, Calgary has 73 and Utah has 71.

With the Club so close, yet so far to that coveted spot, all eyes are on the NHL’s newest franchise, as fans are eager for a taste of playoff hockey in Salt Lake City for the first time ever.

With 14 games remaining and the UHC needing all the help they can get, team owner Ryan Smith, has lowered the cost of the franchises streaming service to a single dollar to amp up the support for the boys in mountain blue.

The service that released this season to cover the team, is annually priced at $69.99 or $14.99 on a month-to-month basis.

The initiative, titled Utah HC+ “Push For the Playoffs” on the segplus.com website includes Live Utah Hockey Club games, DVR features and alternative casts with insider content.

It’s basically a carbon copy of what was offered at the beginning of the season just with only 14 games to look forward to instead of 75 or more.

For the most exciting part of the season to be this accessible is a massive win for Utah fans and the NHL as a whole.

Fans who wanted to tune in but were turned off by the price point now can get familiar with the beautiful game of hockey when the action is at it’s peak and the end result means that much more.

It helps the team garner more intrigue and support now, in order to strengthen the fan base and their involvement in the future.

If you have yet to get into the newest thing in Utah, here’s your chance, it cost less than a Swig drink and it very well could help you find your next interest in the sports world.

Worst case scenario, you can tell your grandkids you were a fan of the Utah Mammoth/Outlaws before they ever even had a real name.

The next opportunity to catch the Club is tonight at the Delta Center as they host the Buffalo Sabres, 7:00 mountain time.

If you cant make the drive to Salt Lake City, Ryan Smith just gave you the next best thing, for a hell of a lot cheaper.
