I was a great parent until I had kids.

I just have no clue what's going on I don't know about you.

BuzzFeed recently published a list of "Trendy Parenting Styles" and they're wondering if they'll last. (LINK TO FULL ARTICLE)

Here's some of them...

"Never saying no to children"

I say no to my kids all the time it just doesn't do anything. I feel like back in the 80's they had paddles. People hate those now but the kids were a little better back then, right? I think parents should get back to paddlin'

"Over-Scheduling children"

This is a good one. But I don't necessarily understand the alternative. For example, if you want your kid to play high school sports, they've gotta keep up with all the other 7-year-olds who are traveling every weekend to Honduras to play baseball tournaments.

But I agree that kids are too busy. I guess it's better than staying at home on Tik Tok but there's gotta be a happier medium.

"Helicopter parenting"

This seems to be a big problem. Back in the 70's when everyone was high, kids would just go out and stay out for weeks. They'd go to Vegas or the Manson's and they'd come back and the parents were just watching Maude.

Once again, gotta be a happy medium.

"Letting babies play on iPads"

Oh please. This is fine. Especially when there's other people around like a restaurant or an airplane. Don't make them suffer because your kid is screaming.

That's all for today class!

Why Millennial Parents are Better at Parenting than the Other Generations

Yes, I said it, and I will go ahead and hang out on this high horse. From Gentle parenting to just flat-out listening to kids, the Millennials have set a standard that can only get better.
