This is the LOWEST ELEVATION SPOT in Utah
Beaver Dam Wash!
It's down by the Arizona border.
Beautiful.
It's only about 2000 feet above sea level compared to King's Peak in Northern Utah which is 13,538 above sea level.
According to the Deseret News:
"St. George isn't the hottest place in Utah, nor does it have the lowest elevation. Those superlatives belong to the Beaver Dam Wash in the extreme southwest corner of the state, at the Utah-Arizona state line.
Welcome to Utah's basement, in the Beaver Dam Wash, where an environment exists unlike anywhere else in the Beehive State. It's the Mojave Desert, where Joshua trees, blackbrush, creosote, yucca and other southern desert plants rule in an ovenlike environment this time of year." (LINK TO FULL ARTICLE)
I'm one of these types of people that's doesn't get out much. Others get a kick out of a wash, and here I am in my skivvy's saying "do we have any more Apple Jacks, sweetie?"
Meanwhile, every hiker bro in Utah is out trying to find El Dorado. Don't these people want to put their feet up? You can't take the views with you folks!
But no, the hiking is a great way to get exercise and fresh air just watch out for moose. They don't wanna be on your story trust me. I saw a moose once out in Midway it tried to stuff me.
But if you're a go-getter who wants to explore there's no better spot than Beaver Dam Wash. Just be sure to wear white and take a flare.
