Anticipation is always present for a new NHL season.

With hopes as fresh as the untouched ice, fans gear up for another season of unknown potential.

In Utah, the anticipation feels a little bit different, a bit more palpable.

It is not as simple as “will we be better than last year” for this team.

With the newest franchise in the NHL the questions are more so along the lines of:

“How will the Delta Center look for a Hockey game?”

“When do we know what the mascot is?”

“Will tickets always be that expensive?”

“What is a butt-ending penalty?”

Among all the questions that separate Utah’s fan base from the other 31, there is one burning desire that fans are clamoring to have resolved.

“Will the team look good?”

No I'm not talking about the physical attractiveness of Clayton Keller, rather the appearance of the team rocking their brand new threads.

For a state that has been living through the nightmare known as the Utah Jazz rebrand, fans would really appreciate a good looking jersey right now.

Those who are having a hard time waiting roughly more than 45 days for the NHL season to drop to see the “Hockey Club” take the ice are in luck.

Today, EA Sports, developer and publisher of widely known and somewhat accepted sports games, released details on “NHL 25”, their newest iteration of their hockey franchise.

The game, set to release on October 4th, dropped it’s reveal trailer and within it can be found glimpses of the Utah Hockey Club.

Two instances here give fans a great look at what Utah looks like not only in the game but what they can expect this inaugural season.

A quick glimpse at the 1:02 mark shows the team either mid line change or celebrating by exiting the bench taking place behind a floating script that states “Hockey is Utah’s Game.”

The more visible moment skates in, literally, at about the 39 second mark.

Clayton Keller is shown, mouth piece hanging out like Michael Jordan’s tongue, breaking down the defense.

And in this shot comes the cleanest look at the UHC’s appearance.

The Rock Black, Salt White and Mountain Blue shines in virtual beauty providing a small glimpse of Utah’s newest fashion.

See for yourself:

And how about a look at the road threads via screenshots of the game:

Opinions differ on what’s good or not, but for supposedly being “placeholder jerseys” fans should be excited that the colors look so good on the ice, even if it is virtual.

The colors seem to be well received, but true judgment day will come when the team tries to combine the uniforms with the new mascot next season.

For now fans can likely appreciate these simplistic beauties for what they are, placeholders, and thank EA Sports for a little sneak peak of Utah’s newest squad.
