Southern Utah's hockey team is Stanley Cup Champions!

How about those Vegas Golden Knights!?

In the franchise's sixth year of existence they are the best in the league.

The Knights scored nine goals last night to beat the Florida Panthers 9-3 in game five.

Mark Stone, who was an absolute warrior all playoffs for the Knights, said this after the game per ESPN.com (link to full story)

"I can't even describe the feelings in my stomach right now," said Stone, who received the Stanley Cup from NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. "It's everything you can imagine. The grind of an 82-game season, four playoff rounds, you grind and you grind and you grind, and at the end of the day, you're the last team standing. It's incredible."

Stone played through injury and was the heart and soul of the team.

Speaking of guys who overcame injury, Jack Eichel showed his respect to the original Golden Knights, the "Misfits" who have been on the team since the beginning:

"This probably doesn't happen without them," Eichel said of the Vegas originals. "They came in here Year 1 and created something special. And not only a culture, but a belief. I'm so happy for those guys. They're ultimate hockey players, but they're some of the best people you'll ever meet." (link to full story)

Congratulations, Knights' fans. What a group and what a dominant run for the VGK.

The date and details of the championship parade in Vegas haven't been released yet, but we'll keep you posted, and see you all down there!
