This Could Have Been Prevented Southern Utah
Listen Above
Trigger warning.
Here's when it's ok to blame the victim...
The City of Oakland had three major sports teams.
They didn't want to build new stadiums, so they lost the most exciting team in the NBA to the other side of the Bay.
They will shortly lose the A's to Las Vegas (probably).
And they already lost the Raiders to Vegas.
Oakland is the victim of teams running out on it.
But I blame Oakland not the teams who left.
Why didn't you pony up? Why did you just let them walk out on you? Why didn't you fight to keep them?
News broke this morning that SUU head basketball coach Todd Simon has officially left SUU for Bowling Green.
Simon was awesome. He turned the Thunderbirds around. He inherited a six win team when he took over, he recruited internationally, he got transfers, and had them a game away from the tournament this year.
SUU is the "victim" of Simon running out on them.
But I blame SUU. Simon's not leaving for UNLV, or another Mountain West school, he's not going to the Big East which would be a big upgrade.
He's choosing the MAC which is worse than the WAC!
He's choosing Bowling Green who hasn't been to a tournament since 1967!
This is a battle you could have won! SUU should have paid him what he wanted. They should have won this fight. Instead they let him walk out the door for Bowling Green!
