The 1980's were all about hair bands. Guns n' Roses. Motley Crue. Poison. White Snake!

All of these bands looked like a Jane Fonda aerobics video, with neon spandex, long hair, flash, bleach blondes!

Van Halen jumping up and down. Kiss in their stupid face paint, It was bright and colorful like pro wrestling.

The snapback point was in 1991 when Nirvana released Nevermind.

Grunge baby!

Everything was flannel and depressing! Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Sound Garden. No colors brighter than brown were allowed. It was a huge shift in the music industry. Grunge was the rebellion against Hair metal.

This is similar to a shift in the basketball industry since 2019.
Before 2019 every champion was big flashy big market teams! Super teams with bright colors and Marvel Universe like powers! Golden State with Curry and Durant, Miami with Lebron James and D-Wade, the Kobe and Pau Lakers, the Kobe and Shaq Lakers and of course Chicago. Huge markets!
Now we got Oklahoma City and it's dust and tornadoes, Minnesota who's more famous for its mall than its basketball, Indiana and Pascal Siakam! That's three of the final four. In the past few years we've had Denver, Milwaukee, Toronto, and Phoenix in the Finals in the last few years! It's the NBA's rebellion against Super Teams! It's great. (No ones gonna watch.)
