Game of the Night - Presented by Ideal Home and Paint

#4 Desert Hills (9-4) at #2 Dixie (13-2) | ESPN 97.7

Desert Hills played one of the most physical, tough-nosed games of the season last Wednesday at Crimson and lost in heart breaking fashion.

Coach Allred got great defense from Boston Holbrook, Eli Allred, Chomp Jones and others and also a Herculean effort from Lincoln Holmes who scored nearly half of the Thunder's points in a 42-41 defeat to the Mustangs.

Tonight, the Thunder will need that same toughness coupled with great defensive rotations. Dixie whips the ball around and inside and out and has shooters locked and loaded. The Flyers have three 3-point shooters who are shooting close to 40% from deep. Breckon Robinson has hit 34 threes (39%), John Southwick 25 (38%), and Jordan Roberts 18 (42%).

Having a big magnet in the paint like Kyle Lemke helps create open shots for the Flyers as well as their great ball movement. The Flyers are averaging 22.2 team assists per game.

Meanwhile, Desert Hills has been awesome this year at generating open shots for their top shooters. Eli Allred, Jackson Holman, Lincoln Holmes and Chomp Jones have all shot the three at 35% or higher and each have made 22 or more on the season.

"Desert Hills is an extremely athletic team," said Coach Tyler Roberts. "They like to spread you out and drive and kick. They have five good guards that can all shoot it."

See Holmes hit from deep on Play #6 of The Rush:

In their last game, Desert Hills only had three of their players score (Holmes 19, Allred 15, Jones 7). If tonight turns into a defensive battle again, they'll need more support from role players to alleviate Holmes.

Although, Dixie likes to play up-tempo (70 ppg) so we might see a higher scoring contest tonight. See you in The Hangar...
