Former Aggie and current quarterback of the storied Green Bay Packers seems to be due for a new contract.

Jordan Love, entering his 4th season in the pro ranks, is coming off his first season as a full time starter.

Prior to the 2023 season, Love had appeared in 10 games, only starting one.

In that span, Love threw 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions completing 50 of his 83 attempts (60 %).

For Jordan, the 2nd overall QB in Utah State history in passing yards, completions, attempts and Touchdown passes (tied), it was a feat of patience.

When future hall of fame QB, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers split, Love’s time In the background was no more.

Being placed entirely in control of last year’s offense, Love shocked doubters and impressed believers by taking what could have been a “rebuilding” team into the postseason on a 9-8 record.

It came largely due to a three game win streak to cap the regular season in which Love threw 7 touchdowns and no interceptions.

Not only did the scrappy Packers make the postseason but made some unexpected noise in the postseason.

Upsetting the hierarchy, Green Bay blasted the Dallas Cowboys on the road becoming the first 7 seed to win a playoff game since the NFL expanded the playoff format in 2020.

In a Divisional round tilt in San Francisco, Love and the Packers were only three points away from a trip to the NFC title game, losing to the 49er’s 24-12.

Postseason Jordan Love threw 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions going 37/55 (67.3%) for 466 yards.

With the Packers well ahead of schedule and Love being a primary culprit of the reason why, it makes sense that Jordan may be looking to up his 13.5 million guaranteed deal he signed in May of 2023.

At the time, the deal provided Love some upside down the road and Green Bay some flexible finances whilst waiting to see if Love would be worth the team’s future.

Results now show that Love overplayed his contract and Green Bay is on the clock to make it right.

Love is the guy for the Packers moving forward, no if’s, and’s, or but’s, so its time he was paid like it.

Although not practicing until the deal is finalized, Love is present at Packers practice with his team.

With that commitment, what could Green Bay commit to him?

ESPN Senior NFL insider, Adam Schefter, seemed to have an idea:

It seems that many are in favor of the former Aggie getting paid, and Utah State fans would enjoy that feather in their cap when it comes to bragging rights against collegiate foes.

Seeing players who made such big impacts locally succeed, is always a win, and many In the beehive state look forward to the news of Love getting his pay day.
