A town/city can often be characterized by the people that come from it.

Some examples among many here in Utah:

Milford has the Wright brothers, Castle Dale has Shawn Bradley, Nephi has Brandon Flowers.

St. George has Penei Sewell.

Sewell, the current Detroit Lion, was listed today as a top 5 offensive lineman by the yearly EA sports video game in the Madden Franchise.

Given a 96 overall out of a high of 99, Sewell, recently named the NFL’s best player under 25, clocks in just behind Trent Williams (97) and Lane Johnson (99).

Accolades are no rare feat for Sewell who has more honors and recognition's than we can possibly track.

And certainly a video game rating likely means very little to the 3rd highest paid lineman in the pro’s.

But it’s still a good sign of how the football world outside of Detroit perceives the tackle.

Not to mention video games go a long way in helping young people understand who’s great and seeing Penei as top guy is about to cement him in their minds as one of the better lineman of their youth.

Trust me, that’s how I remember Walter Jones in Seattle.

From the Outland Trophy & All-American honors to three straight pro bowls and AP-First-Team All-Pro appearances, Sewell has elevated from the Desert Hills High School Star to the man who only gave up one sack in Oregon, to the Giant who does it as well as anyone in the world right now.

And if a video game overall rating helps get that point across, so be it, but we recommend watching the real deal live on Sunday’s.

And trust us, you won’t miss him.

If you want to control Sewell’s Detroit Lion team, you can do so as soon as August 7th with a pre-order of the game or it hit’s shelves available to all on August 14th.
